Oh for heavens sake!
I can not hate both candidates just because everyone else does. Just as I would not hate YOU just because many people may or may not.
I don't do that in any area of my life..So anyone coming at me with the desire to be in a political debate...you're wasting your time with me. Truly...
I've already made my choice. My choice IS Hillary. Is it because she's a woman? Well, that's really just a historical/incredible bonus.
It isn't really this big secret that I'm for women..I'm not exactly a "silent" person. Everyone knows I love my own gender more and more and more each day.
It is true..it is my world view that women rock, that we all have something to offer the world and that sisterhood is one of the most important things in a woman's life. So, yes, I'm just as thrilled to see one of us be the first at anything. (THINK: Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean-I like that too! I could go on an on....)
Just as.... I was equally thrilled when Obama was the change I wanted to see in the world. The fact that he was the first black president was also a historical/incredible bonus.
I do understand why some people feel it's necessary to minimize and invalidate my choices because I do know...
It's also very true with anything I don't really care much about (Like sports) I do pick football/basketball teams based on the color of their uniforms (usually). Which is kind of funny because sometimes I win and it really drives people crazy...haha
Unless I know someone personally on a team...this arena truly is of no great interest to me. I'd rather be on the field of life myself vs sitting in the stands watching but....I can play along when I want to. I enjoy being with people (sometimes) who want to get excited about a game or team...but it's really not my thing.
So it is true that with some things..my decision making process can very much be"mom," centered or "Girly."
I DO that...for sure!!!!
That too though..is a choice I am making.
I'm the daughter of a football coach. Football season hit our home like a tornado....I grew up in a football season home- full of smelly boy stuff, football energy, lingo and boys boys boys...eeeewwww. It was cool to cheer my younger brother on and it was fun to watch my Dad be deeply committed to the community in the form of youth sports...but there was also that other stuff...like smelly boy stuff. And there was watching my brother being fed milk shakes and a big bowl of food so he would make the weight...and I wanted a milk shake too!! You know....it was a lot for a sensitive girly girl to handle. But I survived just fine haha
But when it comes to Politics...I'm much less likely to join in on the debates and much more likely to be doing my own private research. This, I have learned is the only way I can make decisions that bring me clarity and peace. I can't listen to the haters. I can't be in conversations with people who view their political opinion as some how more qualified than mine for any reason.
I'm like a cat. I'm very sneaky. As "out there," as I am, as fluffy love centric as I am...I'm always, every day, doing my research, investigation and so much more.
There's a saying here in Hawaii which we all know..
"Don't mistake my Aloha for weakness"
I'd say "Don't mistake my focus on love for a lack of intelligence"
"Don't mistake my experimental life as a lack of education"
"Don't mistake my FUFU as a lack of being informed"
I could go on and on.....
The bottom line: WE hire our presidents. They work for US. My process: I pretend I'm in charge of the United States of America and I begin the process of research, similar to an interview process which is very extensive. I feel a sense of responsibility considering I'm hiring someone to run the United States of America... Therefore, I wouldn't base my decisions on color or gender...again, those are just added incredible bonus's.....
Even if she doesn't win, she has made it this far!!!!
She's made some mistakes, just like every other political person on the planet or more to the point...just like YOU and just like ME...and she KEEPS GOING!!! THE WOMAN IS UNSTOPPABLE!!!!
I was thinking about how everyone is tearing her down, bashing her, putting her through the ringer......as well as Melina Trump. Oh, it's been rough! To scroll through social media and see women smashing other women in this way. I had to scroll by or shut my eyes and ears.
You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
I can't help it..that comes up for me during these politically charged time periods....because let's be honest...much of what we expect government to do...we could be doing ourselves, in our own homes, in our own communities...we could literally BE the change we wish to see....
This is a woman who has been on this path since 1969. As the nurse at the Philadelphia Navel Hospital was climbing on top of my mother to push me out..... she was attending her forth year of college. Almost 47 years later....following the thread of her life...she is qualified beyond qualified. In fact, she's over qualified.
Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness. Oprah Winfrey
A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. Eleanor Roosevelt
and let's remember....
It may be the cock that crows, but it is the hen that lays the eggs. Margaret Thatcher
