This movie was just so brilliantly crafted, on so many levels. It's deep and intense too...especially if you're in touch with all of your emotions and why they are all so valid and necessary to experience as a human being on the planet.
Anger. We live in a world where anger is either misplaced or considered a disgrace. Ultimately though, anger is a level above apathy. And if you've ever experienced any hardship that brings you to apathy, anger is truly a step up and so necessary in the process of emotional processing. And in this movie, Anger is funny too.
Disgust. A fascinating and important emotion that can serve us very well indeed.
Fear. I love this dude. Lol. There is such a thing as having a healthy fear.
Sadness. A powerful emotion that ties in with empathy. Important.
Joy (my absolute personal FAVORITE)
The movie illustrates the importance of honoring all of our emotions and how they all work together in a real way.
I loved seeing this movie and watching the relationship between sadness and joy grow into a relationship where joy stopped trying to give sadness something to do, to avoid having this young girl experience her own sadness. There is a moment in the movie where joy "gets it." And it's so beautiful. And of course I absolutely loved...the minute that little girls emotion panel "expanded."
It's just so good...
If you get a chance to experience this movie-I'd recommend it.
