It's not an actual disorder as much as it's an annoyance at best and at worst...can be damaging to both the sender and the receiver's psyche's.
This is why I'm a firm believer in the process of integration and allowing reverence, space and time to integrate what one is learning by simply being in their lives FULLY vs moving in a steady stream of one intensive after the other. "Banging it all out." Banging it all out BANGING IT ALL OUT!!!!!!!!!!
Living in alignment with spiritual principle's you are (perhaps) taking on for the first time in your life - is not something you can "bang out." There is a process involved. It can be a quick one but ultimately if you've been shutting off your own body in favor of your mind for the past 25 to 45 years, the process of reattaching your body to your mind and having them work in sync with one another...takes a minute or two.
In addition to this, the same mindset and skill set that helps a corporate person climb the corporate ladder- is not the same skill set or mindset that works in the human spirit or the human psyche. Some things need to "sink in," there are not real "deadlines," other things, there has to be an actual experience in front of us to apply the principle and see how we do while applying.
I hear this so often with my more corporate based clients or clients who are more academic and therefore more in touch with their intellect. They really believe they can apply the same mindset that got them their degree to learning their lessons they are here to learn in this life time.
I often hear:
"Okay, I did this, I got it I will NEVER EVER DO IT AGAIN"
I often respond with something along the lines of "You might and if you do that's okay."
What I hear and see and feel is, they are using their intellect exclusively, as they do when they sit at their desk rather than feel into their body and really let it sink in.
The emotional evolutionary process....
Spiritual Dyslexia can absolutely be a part of that process...
and...it would behoove us all to be mindful of this.
It is not enough to regurgitate what one reads in a book or learns in a weekend long seminar. It sort of has to hit your ears, move through your blood, deepen, quicken or settle down the very pulse of your heartbeat as it travels through your entire being. Even when that happens, that is just the beginning for a lot of humans.
You could get a much speedier and a much less psychologically complex result just by being in nature daily and allowing yourself to be silent long enough to hear yourself.
When you leave a seminar or finish the book you go back into your life which usually has a lot of pre-existing people in it.
If we take something we have not even begun to integrate and use those things to try and fix, improve, change or shift someone else in our life-
We are essentially taking the longest- least effective road there is. It's that road where, no matter how long you've been on it, or how many people come in and out of your life....fulfillment can not be found there.
I see this a lot with the mothers I work with. Forever working on Dad. Trying to change Dad. Trying to have Dad be who he isn't. Trying to mold Dad into the creation of being the perfect human being who is the absolute perfect father. Dream land dad, fantasy land dad, not human dad or real dad or the best dad he can be as him. Father's too, and father's with the help of Stepmother's.
Everyone is so busy trying to tweak, change, shift, stop, block, withhold, blame, butcher, devalue, fight against, invalidate the other parent, the other house, the other everything.
That too is taking the longest least effective road and all of that energy, time and effort can actually be spent being mindful and present and finding creative ways to be with the children and not hand deliver them an even longer least effective road to travel on.
I think it may be time to go back into "Super Simple Learning," and perhaps everything we need to know, we already know...
Row, row, row your boat Gently down the stream, Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily Life is but a dream
"Gently Down The Stream"
To find that quality of being-ness... To feel the sensation of ease, bliss, peace, love....and finding solutions to the "real" problems in connection, in disconnection and all of that....kind of happens when we apply spiritual principles to ourselves.
Besides...it's much more fun....
If you're so so busy trying to tweak, change, shift, stop, block, withhold, blame, butcher, devalue, fight against, invalidate the other parent, the other house, the other everything...you miss the simplistic quality and effiencent workable solution that comes with going "gently down the stream"
Just my opinion
